The warm weather is here and we’re hitting the gym hard. For some of our mates, it is all about getting massive. For others, it’s about doing just enough to look good for the girl. While our motives might be different, the physical and mental benefits of the gym are the same – we look good and we feel good.
After you have sweated buckets; there is definitely nothing better than hitting the showers. It feels good to sooth the muscles and wash away the pong. But the post gym hot shower can actually rob your skin of the stuff that keeps it looking good.
So avoid having a long hot shower – high temperatures will have a negative effect on your skin. You have been running hot during your work out and a hot shower will continue to dehydrate you. Jump in and wash the sweat off, then get out.
Get some fluids into you and replace the electrolytes you have lost. Importantly now is also the time to rehydrate your skin. Apply your moisturiser after the shower to make your skin feel brand new.
